Online Workshop: Wilderness First Aid for Nature-Based Educators

adult providing first aid care to young child in forested setting

When educators are trained in Wilderness Medicine, they are better prepared to prevent and respond to the unexpected—and their calm confidence helps children feel safe to explore the outdoors. In this 2-hour Wilderness First Aid session, we will cover the most common injuries that occur in nature-based programs and how to manage them effectively. Wild Med’s practical, story-based teaching style makes first aid skills easy to understand and remember.

We will also introduce the newly released 2026 updates to CPR and Wilderness First Aid protocols.

In this interactive session participants will:

  • Build their toolkit of techniques for preventing and treating the most common injuries in nature-based programming: Bleeding Control and other Soft Tissue Injuries, Hypothermia, Frostbite, Heat Illness and Dehydration, and Anaphylaxis, and more
  • Receive the newly-released 2026 protocols including major updates to Bleeding Control, Choking Relief, CPR, Anaphylaxis, and more
  • Learn the 5 most important items to include in their First Aid Kits
  • Be welcomed to share any questions they have about any Wilderness First Aid topic.

NOTE: No prior certification is required to participate. This workshop does not provide certification. This workshop will be recorded and made available to all registrants following the live event.
