Portland Presenter FAQ
Thank you so much for being a part of the 2024 in person Nature-Based Early Learning Conference and for sharing your expertise as a presenter!
Where do I register?
By registering, presenters confirm that they have read the Presenter Agreement and agree to its terms and conditions.
What does my registration include?
Registration includes access to “pre-conference” workshops and meetings (July 31), two full days of concurrent sessions and plenary talks (Aug 1-2), optional site tours, year-long access to an online conference workshop and 50+ online on-demand sessions, and professional development certificates for every online session you attend.
Do presenters have to register for the conference?
Yes, all presenters are required to register for the conference.
One presenter per session is granted a discount registration. A special code was sent to the primary presenter via email.
Where do I submit presenter photos and biography information?
Instructions on how to submit presenter photos and bios will be sent to the primary presenter of each session via email by mid-June.
Where can we mail presenter materials?
If needed, presenters can mail presentation supplies and materials to the Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront hotel where the conference will be held. The hotel can receive packages three days before the event and hold them for up to two days after—see this PDF document detailing this information and related costs. Please note that presenters are responsible for any shipping and receiving costs.
Can I submit additional session resources, such as handouts or links?
In person presenters will not be able to submit additional session resources such as handouts and or links anywhere online or on the conference app. Instead, presenters should plan to share these resources during their in person session.
What platform is Natural Start using for the Nature-Based Early Learning Conference?
Natural Start is using Swapcard Event Platform for the in person 2024 Nature-Based Early Learning Conference. This platform will house the in-person conference program, schedule, and presenter information.
How do I make sure my slides are accessible?
This is a good resource for understanding how to check slides for accessibility features.
How much time do I have to present?
In person sessions should be between 50-60 minutes, and not exceed 60 minutes.
When will I find out the date and time of my live session?
All in person sessions will take place Thursday-Friday, Aug 1-2, between the hours of 9 AM-5 PM Pacific Time. Presenters will receive an email with a specific date and time by mid-June.
Will Natural Start provide in-room support during sessions?
Yes, when possible, in-person sessions will have in-room support from a trained volunteer. Volunteer room monitors will help make sure that the room is properly set up for your session.
Will we know how many attendees will be in our session in advance?
Attendees do not sign up for sessions in advance, which means that you won’t know how many participants to expect in your session, so prepare to be flexible!
Can we put a limit on the number of attendees in our session?
No—each session is open to all conference attendees on a first come, first serve basis. In our experience, between 20-50 attendees in each live session is typical.
